The Truth of Death-- CONTINUED.

Shadow sighed silently as she also drifted into a light sleep. She knew four types of sleep: a 'waking' sleep, where the mind shuts down, but the brain is still awake as you find yourself staring absently at something comletely random; a 'half' sleep, which means that you are, in essence, asleep, but you are conscious of your surroundings even if it is a bit hazy; a 'normal' sleep, where you are not conscious of your surroundings, but can be woken easily; and lastly a 'deep' sleep, which kinda speaks for itself.
Shadow was on a half sleep, which was not uncommon for her. She could still sense Bart's calm emotions around her, and she focused on that, feeling at peace.

Bart looked down at Shadow and smiled slightly, his eyes glistening under the shadows of his hair over his eyes. His canine glinted slightly. He pulled up his arm, to see that the necklace was still attached to it. I won't ask the question I'm thinking about.
Bart then looked down at Shadow again, and curled up into a ball beside her, his tail coiling down his leg. He looked at her for a short time, before closing his eyes, but not yet asleep.

Shadow slept quietly, looking like a wolf in the way she was curled up. She was lying on her side, knees drawn into her chest, with her head curled into her chest. Her hair had fallen over her face in a way that overshadowed her closed eyes, throwing the scar into prominence while also allowing her slightly pointed ears to poke through the dark purple hair. Her hands clenched into fists as she frowned.
Suddenly, she awoke with a muffled scream, her violet eyes wide. She had just seen, within her mind, what was going to happen at her death...

Bart opened his eyes quickly. He sat up, looking at Shadow. His eyes glistened. His tail uncoiled, and flicked at the ground repeatedly. He blinked several times, before putting one hand on the ground. 'What's wrong?' he asked.
He couldn't help but to let out,
'Is it the prophecy?'

"Yeah, he's trying to keep tabs on my location." Shadow murmured. "It just hurts a bit, that's all." She added, trying to reassure the Kraferr. Unfortunately, she didn't know how good Kraferrs were at telling the truth from the lies...

The Kraferr nodded once, but hid his thoughts as he gazed down at Shadow. It's not my style to say that people are lying. 'A bit', she says, but I know it's worse.
Bart looked down at Shadow, his silver bracelets glinting in the moonlight. He put a hand on his arm, to reassure himself that the necklace was still tightly wrapped around his arm.

Shadow curled up again, her violet eyes glistening in the moonlight. She couldn't risk going to sleep again. Not after that. She hugged her knees to her chest, reciting a poem in her head to try and stay awake.

Bart laid down on the ciment again, his tail coiling around his leg. His tail flicked as it did so, and his eyes glistened in the darkness as his head sprwaled itself over his face. His bracelets glinted, and he landed with a short thud on the cold ground. He kept his eyes open, gazing at the moon's beauty. He noticed the same figure, and he smiled slightly.

Shadow kept an eye on Bart as she pretended to sleep. She kept one eye fractionally open to do so. Shadow was yet unsure about Bart's views on the prophecy, and therefore she couldn't guess how he was going to act when it came to the final moment. She needed to find out and try to stop any possible interferance before it happened.

Bart looked at Shadow sleep. He smiled slightly, and then turned his body over, and closed his eyes, still smiling. His eyes glistened as he shut them, and he put his arm under his head. His tail squeezed his leg. He curled up into a ball, keeping his smiling head turned to Shadow. His clothing fluttered as a cold wind passed.

Shadow opened her eyes fully, observing the Kraferr. She sighed silently, hugging her knees closer to her chest. She wondered if death would bring any more comfort than life. She thought back to all the adventures she had ever had with her friends. Merlas, Holly, Natalie, Alba, Bart... So many people she was leaving behind.

Bart snoozed slightly, not yet in deep sleep. His tail laid itself gently onto the ground, and his hands untensed. He opened his mouth slightly, letting his breath in and out. Wind blew his hair and clothing, making morbid shapes in the moonlight.

Shadow vaguely registered her hair and cloak blowing slightly in the breeze, but her thoughts were far away in a morbid place. With the circlet of metal on her head, she was sure that her magic was under control. A single tear escaped the corner of one eye, dripping down onto the concrete, followed by another, and another.

Bart felt that something was wrong- in his sleep. He could feel that around him, something wasn't particuarly like it used to be, like if a dog was left out in the rain. He squinched slightly, and curled up into a tighter ball. His clothes stopped moving, as the wind faded away.

Shadow allowed her tears to fall, closing her eyes. In demonic years, she was still only in her early teenage years. Then she remembered something important someone had once said to her.
You're never too young to die... Thunder rumbled in the distance, but Shadow paid no attention, occupied with her thoughts.

Bart opened his eyes as he heard the quake. He sat up slightly, rubbing his red eyes. His tail flicked once. He looked at Shadow, and was kind of suprised, he had to admit. He knelt near Shadow, knowing what was wrong. He crouched near her, trying to recomfort her.

Shadow opened her eyes, glistening with unshed tears.
"I don't want to die like this," She murmured, trying to get a grip on her emotions, but she was failing miserably. She drew a shaky breath, trying to calm down.

Bart's eyes glistened, and his tail laid itself silently onto the ciment floor. He gazed at Shadow through the locks of hair that had fallen over his face.
"Nobody wants you to die in the first place, Shadow," Bart said, crouching closer to her. The moonlight spreaded across the ciment platforms, showing groups of stray cats.

"That's not true." Shadow murmured. "There are lots of people who would be glad to see the back of me..." She thoughts back to her time on Synairn, to Arias, Meran and other Senators who had wanted her dead when she was only two weeks old. She shivered at the thought of Meran, remembering how he would take great delight in trying to break her spirit.

Bart stayed silent, his tail flicking the air once again. His eyes glistened in the darkness of the night. He scooted aside Shadow. He thought a while. He put a hand on Shadow's shoulder.
"Well then," he began, "at least tell yourself that you shall not die in vain, Shadow,"

"Hm," Shadow said quietly, leaning her head on Bart's shoulder. She guessed that taking one of the most powerful and evil demons across the dimensions with her when she died would be saving so many more lives.

Bart blushed slightly as Shadow put her head on his shoulder. He turned his head, trying to hide it. His tail coiled itself around the arm he was putting all his weight on to stay sitting up. He bit his lip with his canine, so that he wouldn't do anything stupid.

Shadow sensed Bart's emotions, and quickly sat up, trying to hide the slightly embarrassed look on her face.She gazed sadly down at the concrete, trying to bring her tears under control.

Bart looked at Shadow again, his tail uncoiling from his arm. He smiled slightly. "No, it's okay," he said quietly, "I'm just not used to that,'
Bart put his hand on Shadow's shoulder again, smiling slightly, his eyes glistening in the darkness of the night, and in the shadows created by his hair.

Shadow gently rested her head on Bart's shoulder again, her violet eyes glistening in the moonlight. She took a shaky breath, beinging an end to her tears at last, just as the rain started to fall. Another roll of thunder echoed through the city's streets.
