The Truth of Death-- CONTINUED.

Bart thought about that. Would Shadow be happier, somewhere else, with the people she once loved, or here, with people that are still alive? Bart thought a bit, then bit his lip. He didn't want Shadow to go away. It seemed to be the only solution. If she went away, what would he do? He can't stay alone, without company. The prophecy said that Alba would die. And he admitted that he couldn't keep alone.

"I feel torn, because I have my life on Earth, here, with you and everyone else. Then there is the chance of seeing Arella, and apologising for that night..." Shadow admitted quietly.

Bart looked up at Shadow. 'You do what you want to do, Shadow,' he said, quietly, even though he really, really wanted to say that she should stay with the living. He sighed slightly, and looked at the ground.

Shadow snorted.
"Like I have the choice. I am only debating whether I will be sad to see this life go, or whether I will wish it back."

'I understand,' Bart answered quietly, and sadly. He stared down at the ground, like if he was tring to break it with his vision. he scratched at the ground. He didn't even feel like looking at his watch. He didn't want to know in how many hours Shadow would go. His tail flicked.

Shadow hugged her knees to her chest, closing her eyes with a pained expression.
"I don't want to go..." She murmured, more to herself than anyone. She had seen a glimpse of the void once, and she knew that she was kidding herself about seeing Arella again.

'Nobody wants you to go, Shadow,' Bart said, looking back at her, 'I don't, Alba doesn't, Vrael doesn't. No one. I'm sure Raven doesn't, either.' his eyes glistened. His tail flicked once, then a second time. Bart looked sad. He wasn't sure what to do after Shadow had gone. He looked back at the moon. Still the same figure. He looked back at Shadow, his eyes gleaming red light.

"I've seen the void," She said quietly, "and it was horrible. There was no time, no life, no light. Just drifting in endless nothing." The demoness shivered at the thought.

'The void is what happens when you..; Die, right?' he asked, head put in between his knees, his tail coiled around his left leg, his arms attaching his legs together. His hair flowed with the wind, and his eyes gleamed. The necklace glinted as it moved with the small breeze.

"Yes, yes it is..." Shadow murmured. She took a deep, shaky, breath, trying to hold back tears. She had accepted her fate for so long, but now all the pretences she had tried to make were falling apart.

'It'll soon all be over,' Bart said, the words flowing out of his mouth without him wanting to. He looked at the ground again, and his til uncoiled from his leg, and flicked at the ciment. Bart's eyes glistened, and he looked back at the moon. He couldn't help but to let a tear come from his red eye. He brushed it off quickly, hoping Shadow hadn't seen it.

Shadow had leant her head back, gazing up at the moon again. She cursed herself, Kar, and who ever came up with that dumb prophecy for putting her through this.

Bart stared blankly at the ground, fiddling with his kraferric tail. He let go of his tail, letting it whip the ground. His red eyes glistened. His clothing swayed gently in the cold wind, as they were higher above, making the temperature colder. Bart looked at the moon. He then glanced at Shadow. He couldn't help but to half smile.

Shadow glanced at Bart, taking in his expression. She tilted her head to one side in a silent question, her gaze slightly puzzled.

Bart looked back down, not really knowing what to say. He let his brownish hair fall over his face, and let his eyes glisten in the shadows. His tail flicked a few times, before laying itself peacefully on the ground. It ruffled the dust away, before it set itself onto the ciment.

Shadow sighed quietly, turning her violet gaze back to the moon. Her hair brushed the ground lightly again. She closed her eyes again, trying to get her mind away from the prophecy.

Bart laid down backwards, using his arms as a pillow for his head. His tail whipped at the air two more times, and then it finally set itself upon the cold ciment floor. He gazed up at the moon, his eyes glistening in it's beauty. He relaxed, and closed his eyes.

Shadow leant back on her arms, giving a small half-smile as she thought about her family, about all they had been through together. Archangel's pranks, Onyx's hbit for reading the dictionary, Vrael's quiet emotions, Raven's love of fighting...

Bart glanced back at the moon, then closed his eyes again. His tail flickered softly at the ground, before Bart fell asleep again. He fell asleep with a smile, his right canine showing. The wind blew his clothing and brown hair. The moonlight shown upon him as he breathed slowly.

Shadow glanced down, watching Bart sleep. His calm emotions soothed her empathy. She looked up at the moon, wondering how many more moons she would see before Karthragan caught up with her and threw her in a cell until the 333rd moon of her life. She shook her head, trying to get rid of such thoughts. She had know for so long that it would come, and she wouldn't break down now.

Dominique twitched, and opened her bright, red eyes. She yawned, and stood up. her tail flicked two times at the ground, and she looked behind, at Shadow and Bart. She looked up at the dark sky, and put her hand up to her heart. She lowered her head. She brushed her face with her sleeve, and walked up to Bart. She nudged him a little, and Bart woke from his recent sleep.
'I'm going to have to go,' Dominque said quietly.
'Why?' Bart asked, sitting up.
'I must find another goal in life, now that the Kraferrs are gone,' she answered simply.
Bart looked downwards. 'I understand,' he replied. He stood up. 'Well, goodbye, then,' he said.
Dominique smiled. She turned to Shadow. 'It was great meeting you, too.'

Shadow nodded, bowing slightly with one hand fisted over her heart.
"Nice to meet you too Dominique." She said with a small half smile. "Choose your paths well, and be safe." She added. It was a custom of her clan to send their friends away with good wished for their future.

Dominique nodded, and gave a kiss on Bart's forehead. Bart blushed slightly.
'What was that for?' He asked.
'Kraferric way of saying goodbye, don't you know?' Dominque answered with a lugh. Bart stood silent. Dominque waved, and jumped off the building top. Bart turned to Shadow, and sat down again.

Shadow watched Dominiqie until she had vanished into the darkness of the night, and then curled up on the roof like a wolf, the moonlight reflecting in her violet eyes. She gave a silent sigh, her eyes half closing in a doze. She didn't want to sleep, but she felt so tired.

Oh yeah, I remember now, Bart thought, The way of saying 'goodbye' in Kraferric is to approach the sould, which is located in one's head, in Kraferric beleifs.
Bart smiled, and curled up into a ball next to Shadow. His tail flicked at the ground two times, and his eyes glistened as he closed them. He couldn't help but to sleep. He needed it. He drifted asleep.
