Can you help me?

"The sun... It's going down!" Vrael murmured.

"And...?" Alba looked at Vrael, not quite grasping what was wrong.

"It is the night of the new moon..." He said, his hands balling into fists as the last rays of sunlight faded away. Shadow's hair gradually turned black, and her skin lost its greyish tint. Vrael's hair turned from silver to a reddish brown, his eyes gaining pupils and deep blue irises. His skin also lost the greyish tint, and his slight fangs disappeared. He hung his head.

Alba jumped back in alarm. She stood staring at Vrael.
"You're...," She hesitated, "You're human!"
Shock and disbelief grew in her voice but didn't stop a faint smile spreading across her face. She asked:
"And how long does this last?"

"It will last one week." Vrael muttered darkly.

"One week!!!" cried Alba, "But that means we can't rely on your demonic powers to protect Shadow... Oh my God, I'm gonna have to protect the two of you on my own!"
Alba smiled, amused at the idea of her defending two demons when the situation would usually be the oposite.

"Shadow has her swords. I am not an expert swordsman, but I know enough." Vrael said quietly.

I hope you do, thought Alba, wishing things didn't have to be so complicated.

Vrael put his elbows on his knees, leaning on them.
"We are in trouble, for want of better words."

Alba thought for a minute, glancing over at Shadow, seemingly so peaceful on the couch. She wished she could just drift off into a deep sleep and forget all about the complicated world arround her. She wanted to keep things simple. Keep things safe...

Vrael followed Alba's gaze to Shadow.
"Her sleep is not natural." He said, reading Alba's face.

Alba looked away. No knowing what to say anymore. Human! Vrael! What was going to happen... She hadn't a clue.

Vrael stayed silent, lost in his own thoughts.

((right, we're gonna need something dramatic happening pretty soon or i have a feeling this thread isn't gonna last very long, lol))

Alba ... didn't know what to do. So she just sat on the chair and shifted closer to Vrael.

Vrael sighed, trying to think of a way to get through the week. His now lowered senses didn't pick up on the soft footsteps in the corridor, and only realised that someone was there when a pointed cough echoed through the silence of the room.
"Well Vrael, looks like you're in trouble now, aren't you?" Raven's voice said.

Alba spun round in alarm. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the demon.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.

((ps, go onto Deezer and listen to 'slow disco' by Izabo. Donno if you'll like it, but you can always try it. Then again, maybe it's too 'me'. lol, wateva))

Raven smirked.
"Oh, I'm just here to follow destiny." She said airily.

"Get out of my house," said Alba coldly, getting up out of the chair and facing the demoness.

Vrael sprung to his feet at the sight of Raven, grabbing one of Shadow's swords and drawing the blade, pointing it at Raven. The demoness raised an eyebrow.
"You know as well as I do that you couldn't wield a sword to challenge me in any century." She laughed. Vrael cursed under his breath.
"Raven, leave them alone," Came Shadow's voice. She was sitting up, one arm wrapped around her midsection, over the wounds.

Alba's anger suddenly became overwhelming, taking over her body. She felt the Manticore pushing and tugging to get free, and sensed her body morphing.
Soon an angry Manticore stood in the middle of the room, it's fangs bared and it's tale of spines swishing dangerously.

Vrael put a hand out, in front of Alba. He glanced back at her.
"Control your emotions Alba," He murmured to her. Raven's eyes narrowed.
"I'm only here for Shadow."

Alba growled, warning Raven to keep back.

Raven backed up a few paces, but only to take a run, jumping and turning a neat somersault over Vrael and Alba, landing next to the window. Shadow drew her other sword, standing up. She swayed, the bandages Vrael had secured over the wounds starting to turn black.
