The Good Old Black Lake...8 years later

"In simple terms, she was going to have a stress related heart attack." The nurse said, carefully drawing the needle out of a now sleeping Shadow.

"Oh." Holly said, "But she's okay now?"
Yes, thats right ,Holly was worried. See, she does have a heart. Its in there SOMEwhere.

"Until she comes round." The nurse said, ruffling her wings.

"Whats that supposed to mean?" Holly asked, mroe bitterly than it was meant.

"She's not going to be happy. I'm just warning you." The nurse replied.

"Ah....." Holly said, almost dreading this moment.

The nurse shrugged and left again.

"Thanks," Holly muttered bitterly, and sat herself down again with 'Demon Weekly'.

((Ha ha))

Shadow slept soundly, although her fist kept clenching and straightening before clenching agian.

((YAY ME!))

Holly tried not to notice this, but its hard when you're reading about demons in demonic, and dont understand it.

Shadow didn't stir, but someone crept into the room.

Holly sighed lightly and flicked a page.
There was that feeling again. That 'oh-shot-im-being-watched-run' feeling. Holly froze.

There was a dark figure in the corner, and no it was NOT Batman. Meran's eyes looked out from under the hood, and he teleoprted silently behind Holly, putting a hand ove rhe rmouth.

OHMYGODITSBATMAN! was Holly's initial thought. It wasnt though.


*ahem*

Holly almost died of shock. Good thing this was a hospital. She tensed, her heart thumping.

"Do not move, do not make a sound." Meran whispered silkily into her ear.

Holly was not able to do either of these things anyway, and so nodded as best she could. What was that noise? Oh, it was her blood pumping in her ears. YAY!

((I actually wondered what that was once lol))

Meran smirked and continued to speak.
"Now stand up..."

Holly did so, albeit, a little shakily.
If she could have spoken, she might have said, "When was the last time you washed your hands?" or, "Thee eff man?"

Meran smirked again before he disappeared, taking Holly with him.

Holly threw the sleeping Shadow one last look, and felt herself being apparated. Or something like that.

Meran appeared in his quarters in the Senate Tower and threw Holly down.

"What the check do you want?" Holly spat, "Im of no use to you."

"Actually, you're of plenty use." Meran said.

Holly narrowed her eyes and raised herself up onto her elbows.
"What kind of use?"

Meran smiled slightly.
"Well, you're close friends with my enemy... you're a girl..." He said.
