Memory Lane (Shadow and Holly)

Holly found herself staring at Shadow, insted of at the ground where her eyes enjoyed resting.

Shadow didn't look up, intently staring at the steam.

Holly choked ever so slightly on the hot chocolate, and grinned as she coughed.
"Always me..." she muttered.

Shadow looked up, her head on one side questioningly.

"Who chokes...." Holly added, to clarify. She set down her mug and yawned.
"I feel like Ive lived for three days without sleep..." she muttered grinning, eyes closed.

Shadow smiled at her friend.
"Go to sleep then. I'll keep watch."

Holly grinned weakly in some form of thanks, and leaned her head against the cave wall.
In a few moments she was asleep.

Shadow smiled at her sleeping friend, sipping her tea again.

Holly dreamt she was eating a giant marshmallow, and when she woke up, her pillow was gone.

Shadow had also fallen asleep, somehow in exactly the same position, sitting crosslegged by the fire and still holding her mug of tea.

((MARSHMALLOWS!!! ... aw no, i ate them all .... ))

Holly jerked awake as the hot chocolate began to spill over her lap.
She swore and used her wand to remove the now cold remedy.

Shadow remained upright and asleep. No one knows how they do it, it's just one of those 'demon things'.

Holly muttered "Stupid mug..." and re-lit the fire using her wand.
She sat again, and watched her friend, content.

Shadow didn't stir apart from the odd snarl from what ever she was dreaming.

For a split second Holly debated over writing something on Shadow's face. Eventually she decided against it, assuming getting beaten up by a demon would NOT be fun.

Shadow's eyes snapped open again and she yawned, remembering her manners enough to put a hand on front of her mouth to hide the over long fangs.

Holly had been so wrapped up in her 'writing-on-friends-face' fantasy, that she jumped when Shadow awoke.
"Heyy...." she said grinning.

"Hello." Shadow said, somehow already wide awake.

"Sleep well?" Holly asked, using her wand to clear the rest of the hot chocolate spillage.

"Enough, you?" Shadow asked.

"Meh..." Holly said, "Alright.....where are we 'aheaded' today?"

"No idea." Shadow said.

"Nothing on the agenda?" Holly asked in mock surprise, "No saving ungrateful people's butts? No getting ourselves outta danger? No kicking Bond? HA!"
Holly grinned and yawned.

Shadow smiled and stood up, getting a book before sitting down again to read.

Holly cocked her head to the side thoughtfully and took out her diary. The one with just dates in it. Not the incredibly private secret one Archangel and Onyx had read.
"Ha, I was right," she said, "It is September first."

For some reason, this date rang a bell.
Why, however, Holly did not know.
