Under Kar's influence (Alba, Bart, Matt)

Shadow was lying in a corner of the bare room, her wrists tied together and then to the wall. The injection still had a while before the demonesss would shake it off. Shaeman, Archangel and Raven were scowering through boos to see if they could find anything to help her, but so far there had been no luck.

Alba walked in, having no idea of what to do.
"Euh... hi everyone," she said gingerly, "need any help?"

Archangel looked up tiredly at Alba, and waved.
"Hey Alba. We're trying to find spells to help Shad. She's about to go mental."
"We're not doing much better either..." Shaeman muttered under his breath.
Raven said nothing, seemingly concentrating.

Alba walked over to her drugged friend, sorrow dulling her usually bright green eyes. She didn't know how to help Shadow. Of course she wanted to, but she hadn't a clue how to.

Archangel silently got up and stood next to Alba.
"We're doing what we can, but that's not much right now."

"What's actually wrong with her, though," asked Alba, "I never really knew."

"Kar, my grandfather, is desperate for a prophecy to be fulfilled, and he's playing it the dirty way." Archangel said.

Alba nodded. she had heard of Kar before, and was uneasy at his mention. She didn't know why but the name unsettled her.

Archangel watched Shadow for a few moments before summoning a book to her. SHe looked at Shaeman.
"Any news on On?"
"No Archangel, you know that Twilight will tell us if there's a change." He said in a bored tone.

"Change?" asked Alba, "Where's everyone else anyway?"

"Shadow nearly killed Onyx, so Twilight's keeping an eye on her. Vrael's sleeping off his last guard duty, and the last message we got from Eclipse was that she got lost in the Senate library in Synairn." Raven said, turning a page in her book.

"Nearly killed...!" Alba could feel the shock show on her face, "How?!"
She knew Shadow was capable of killing, but her own child?!

Archangel looked at Alba's expression.
"She didn't know what she was doing." The teenager said quickly. "Kar has her mind nearly at breaking point. Onyx was in the wrong place at the wrong time during one of her outbursts."

Bart traipsed into the room, recently woken up. He looked at Shadow, tied and gagged. She was struggling. This view awoke Bart completely. He opened his eyes wide, then looked at Archangel.
'Er, why?'

"We had to after the incident with my sister, Onyx." Archangel said simply. "We're trying to help."
"But it's not working..." Shaeman added under his breath.

Bart wasn't used to see a tortured being by his own eyes. At least, not a human being. He couldn't stop himself from turning away of the sight, looking at Alba, whispering, 'And they are?'

Alba smiled at Bart.
"They are what?" she asked back, not sure what her meant.

'Er, sorry. Whom are they?' Bart corrected, grinning slightly. His hands relaxed beside his legs. He waited for Alba to answer, impatient. They probably are of Shadow and Raven's family too, he thought, looks like I'm going to meet the whole family, eh?

Archangel looked at Bart.
"I'm Shadow's daughter, so's Onyx. Twilight and Eclipse are Raven's daughters."

'Ah,' he said, nodding to Archangel, 'Okay.' He looked at Shadow, tied up. The vision made him flinch, and he turned his head away. The vision of a tortured one is very harsh for him. It keeps making him remind of the aggression of a member of his family, upon his eyes, when he was unable to do anything.

Archangel watched Bart's gaze on Shadow.
"There is no other way to do it." She said. "Kar's hold on her is getting stronger, but we don't know how."

Alba didn't have time to answer the questionned asked, because Archangel got there first. She stood in the corner of the room, watching Shadow, wishing there was more she could do to help her. She had never liked torture. It was against every moral in her body, and to see it done to a friend made her feel nautious.

Archangel watched as her mother began to stir slightly, coming round from the drug. She didn't notice Raven's expression giving her an even deeper look of concentration.

Bart sat down next to Alba. He sighed, closed his eyes, and said quietly, 'I'm sure it's all going to come out fine.' He said that as though he wasn't sure.
He thought to himself, SURE?! My freakin' eye. You don't even know excatly what's happening to Shadow. Stop trying to act calm and try to releive others when you don't know what the heck you're talking about.

Shadow rubbed her head with her bound hands, and opened her eyes, looking around as if she didn't really know where she was or who was there.
