First day

Archangel and Onyx were used to this school, but that meant they had to look after Twilight and Eclipse. The four demons strode through the ornate gates which depicted almost every single mythical creature in the world. Midnight Star walked at an easy pace beside them. He was almost as tall as his mother now, and he liked to be towering over everyone else.

The school lay ahead of them, at the end of a long gravel track. A red stone building that looked like a victorian mansion. Dorm buildings stood around it, like a semi circle, giving the place an even more regal air.

Ash followed the demons, a little warlily, as they were the only people that he knew from this whole school. Apparently.

Midnight Star looked around at the people milling around. There were so many people! Faries, unicorns, other pegusi (he spotted a rather cute looking mare and just stared at her for a few moments)...

A woman with pale gold hair landed in front of the little group, clipboard in hand, and snowy white wings folded behind her back.
"Archangel and Onyx, welcome back, Twilight and Eclipse Roth? Midnight Star? Ash Bristol?"

Tomorrow walk in, eyes wide, looking around, green and pink cats walking at her side.
She looked panic stricken.

"Ah, Tomorrow Patterson I think." The woman said, smiling gently at Tomorrow.

"Yes," said Tomorrow smiling, "I am."

"How do you know my name?" Ash asked rudely.

"Because it's on the list of the new arrivals." The woman pointed out. "My name is Sarah, I'm your house mother."

"YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MUM!" Ash yelled, and ran away.

Archangel and Onyx rolled their eyes and picked up their cases before heading towards their dorm house. Star trotted away towards a barn.

Ash wised up, and followed them, a little sadly.
"Don't leave me behind, I dunno my way round!" he said.

Archangel turned and grinned at Ash.
"Come on then."

"Note to self." Ash said quietly, "Get Arc a better christmas present than 'a hug'."

Archangel shook her head and strodeoff towards the dorm buildings.

Tomorrow walked after Star to the barn.
"Hey horsey," she said, grinning as she used her reference word for Star.

"Hello little one." Star replied, nudging Tomorrow with his nose. It was his usual greeting.

"Little one? Excuse you and me!" Tomorrow teased, pretending to be offended, "I was there the day you were born!"
She reminded Star of this every time they spoke...but it was funny every time.

"If I needed someone to control me.. If I needed someone to push me around .. I would change my direction ... " Ash sang, his new favourite song, as he hurried to keep up with Archangel.

"Ah, but look at the height difference." Star pointed out with a small whinney of laughter.

Tomorrow nodded.
"True...but still..." said Tomorrow.
She sighed.
"I hate the thought of you out here by yourself."

Star snorted quietly.
"There are other pegusi there." He said. "And I'll see you during the day."

"I know...but...they're so much older than you...I keep thinking they'll...bully you," sighed Tomorrow, smiling weakly at the horse, "my paranoia again."

"Then I'll get mum." Star said, referring to Merlas. "But thanks for your worry." He looked up at the darkening sky.
"Fancy going flying?"

"Please," said Tomorrow, climbing gentally onto Star's back.

Star grinned and launched himself into the air, glad too feel the wind through his mane again.
