Deep in the Forest

Alba smiled at him, then started down the hall. She made her way up a flight of stairs and towards the noise that Shadow and her twins were making. She opened a door and stifled a laugh at the sight she saw.

Shadow was in her soul self form, trying to catch the lively looking dove, which seemed to have a huge grin on its face. Morphing back, Shadow yelled at the dove:
"ARCHANGEL! GET YOUR FEATHERED *RSE DOWN HERE NOW BEFORE YOU TURN OUT TO BE TOMORROW'S DINNER!"

Alba couldn't help but laugh. Then seeing the look on Shadows face decided to intervene.
"Archangel, please do as your mother tells you. She's only trying to protect you. You do realise that the Senate is on it's way!"
Alba wasn't even sure what the Senate was, but it seamed to frighten the demons into hiding. She hoped she'd proved her point.

"The Senate don't scare me." Archangel said proudly, having perched herself on a rather and morphed back.
"They're enough to scare Auntie Rae, now come down Arc!"

Alba smiled. She bet Raven loved being called Aunty Rae! She looked at Vrael and shrugged.
"I don't think there's anything we can do to help her, is there?"

Vrael thought for a second.
"Archangel, Onyx has just discovered where your mother hid the dictionary of swear words." He said. Archangel sprang down, about to run off when the half demon caught his neice.

Alba laughed, smiling at Vrael. Fantastic, she thought, fantastic!
She went to see to Shadow who looked a bit shaken to Alba.

Shadow looked on the verge of having a nervous breakdown, and Shaeman had to come and calm her down again.
"I can sense them coming, they're so close." Shadow said quietly.

Vrael took charge.
"Archangel, you and your sister must hide in the safety room. Attack anyone that may try to hurt you. Shaeman, you must calm our sister down before they arrive. Raven is keeping a lookout. Alba..." His silvery gaze turned to his loved one. "I want you to hide with the younger ones."

"What!? No way. If you are fighting, Im fighting by your side."
Alba shifted her feet slightly, as if to find better balance in battle. She looked deep into Vrael's eyes.
"I'm not leaving you."

"They will kill you." Vrael said clearly, tears starting to gather in his eyes at the thought.

Alba stepped up to Vrael. She placed her arms around his neck and hugged him tight.
"I don't want us to be apart." she whispered.
Then she pulled back slightly and, gazing into his silver eyes, pressed her lips against his.

((Scary, innit?))

Shaeman diplomatically escorted the two younger ones to the safety room, but not before Archangel had made a few pointed retching noises as Vraelplaced his hands on Alba's waist.

((hahaha, love it, exactly what little kids do! ))

Alba could feel tears running down her face as she kissed the gorgeous vampire she loved so much. She didn't ever want to leave him. It would be impossible!

((Lol, I had to spoil the moment. And it seems I'm not the only one going soft...))

Vrael gently pushed Alba awa, and lifted a hand to wipe away her tears.
"Please, for me."

Alba looked away. Why was the choice so hard? Either she went to this room and was safe, or she fought until her death. The answer was simple. But then there was Vrael, and that changed everything.
She hesitated, but after a while, she looked into Vrael's eyes and said;
"I don't want to do it, but i will, for you..."

Vrael smiled gratefully at Alba.
"Thank you."

Shadow, how had been lingering in the shadows, stepped forwards to guide Alba to to the safety room.

After one last longing look at Vrael, Alba followed Shadow out the room. As the went, she put on a brave face. I have to look after the twins.
A tear ran down her cheek, oblitterating the braveness she was trying to prove.

"Don't worry." Shadow assured Alba calmly. "Raven's got a strategy all worked out, and Vrael is a rather fierce fighter."

Im sure he is, thought Alba.
She followed Shadow down a corridor and down a flight of stairs to a floor built underground. The passage they emerged into was dark and lit by torches along the walls. It wasn't as modern as the rest of the house, and Alba couldn't quite place why.

"This was built centuries ago, when we first moved into this dimension." Shadow said. "It's basically a bungalow underground." She summoned a small orb of white magic, and used it to light the way.

Alba looked around, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the gloom of the underground corridor. She looked around, searching for a door.

"Through here." Shadow said, just walking through the wall.

"Euh..." Alba stared at the wall, "What the...? What am i supposed to do?"

Shadow's head appeared.
"Just walk through." Shadow said simply.

Alba stared. She felt like saying Actually, I usually use doors but restrained and took a deep breath. She walked forwards and... walked through the wall! Alba opened her eyes to find herself in a room with Shadow, Sheaman (is that how you spell it?), Onix and Archangel.
