Diaes quickly downed the painkiller, and while wearing a grimace that could have split his face, tried to shove himself up the wall. A bloody stain ran up behind him. he tripped after the other two, nearly falling as a gasp escaped his bared, gritted teeth. had the otehrs taken the time to look, they would have seen the hideously pointed canines which opened for a moment in a silent scream of pain. But, nonetheless the ever paler man staggered along behind them, his right shoulder leaned against the wall for support.

Shadow turned back, taking Diaes' right arm and pulling it around her shoulders to help him follow them. She remembered times when she had been injured like that, and hoped that she never had to go through that again.

Diaes nodded his thanks and a faint smile appeared across the pain in his eyes. His feet stumbled along with Shadow, but he was making a visible effort to keep up with her. his body shook in weakness which only added to the pain he was already dieing of. "How long does that pill take to start working?" he sort of whispered or coughed the words up, it came out sort of wet sounding. When he swallowed it even sounded painful. "I don't know if I'll even live long enough for it to take...effect," he doubled over in silent agony, but clung to Shadow all the same.

"It should take effect within a few moments." Shadow said. She knew that she shouldn't be dragging him along like this, but if she didn't, the Vladimir was more than likely to do something extraordinarily stupid.

Vladimir nodded at the two, and took a step forwards.
Without looking. (Always watch your step, eh?)
He tripped on some blunt object, which made him propulse his head forwards. Like if time stopped he stood there for a few moments, an exaggerated face gluing itself to his head. He twitched a bit, squeaking (because kicking right into something hard hurts alot), then falling down the stairs head first.
You could hear screams and curses as he hauled his way through the narrow and dimly-lighted passage, then a loud thud as he met the ground on the other end. Then, you could hear moaning, as Vladimir rubbed his head with his two hands.

Diaes winced. "Well," he whispered, "If that explosion killed us, then I think his scream may have just resurrected us." Shakily, Diaes slowly lowered himself from one step to another. "If they heard that, then you don't have time to fiddle about with me hanging from your shoulder. If you drop me here, I play dead pretty well," A lurch of pain nearly sent him falling down the stairs, "And in my current condition...It wouldn't be too hard to believe."

Vladimir, as he looked back to see what Shadow and Diaes were doing up the stairs, saw a big, black mass coming right towards him. Diaes fell on top of Vladimir, him squished, and being used as a pillow. He couldn't breathed, and he wheezed to try to get a catch of air. He thudded on the ground with his open palm, wheezing harder and harder. His eyes were bulging out, and his tongue was sticking out.

As the dark clad figure landed, something crunched. He rolled off of Vladimir curled up into a ball. There was a bit of blood splatter on the ground around the gunman. Diaes's scream was not only audible but earsplitting, that is, once he recovered the wind which had been thoroughly knocked out of him upon landing. His little ball curled up tighter and then, suddenly, it was all over. A pale, cold body stretched across the ground, a little pool of blood being soaked up by the now slightly soggy coat. The muscles loosened and a small sigh escaped thin red lips. Large black eyes clouded slightly as they stared out at nothing.

Shadow, leaping down the stairs lightly in wolf form, morphed back, turning a somersault to land not on top of someone else. Seeing Diaes and remembering what happened, she swore in almost every language she knew, grabbing her medical kit again. Then she remembered something, and pulled a vial of something black from the small collection of potions from her belt. Diaes had a scent similar to her brother, Vrael. She knew that it wasn't demon, so it had to be Vampire. She tipped the black liquid into Diaes' mouth, thinking that Vrael wouldn't miss one vial of blood.

As his head was moved so that the blood might be poured into the orifice generally called the mouth, a small necklace slipped from its tightly wound place around Diaes's neck. Hanging from this necklace was a small crucifix made crudely by twining three small iron nails together. The head lolled back, but nothing happened as the blood flowed into the red mouth.

Shadow frowned, and sat back. She didn't know what to do. The techniques that she had learnt never taught her how to deal with someone close to death or just dead, as battlefield medics should only be concentrating on the people who have a chance of pulling through quickly. She growled quietly, annoyed with herself for not being able to do anything.

Vladimir rolled out of Diaes' weight, coughing. He held his neck with one hand, and pushed himself up with another. He stood up, dusted his cloak. Vladimir noticed a glimpse of an object around Diaes' neck, which caught his attention. A crucifix?
Vladimir felt something in his mind, but decided to go against it. He glanced at the dark corridor that they stood upon as of now. Vladimir not only wanted to get through with this, but also to try to discover what he had been feeling all this time, beginning from a few weeks ago. It seemed that ever he passed that city where he was drunk, he felt a tingeling feeling in his chest. Vladimir sighed, and continued walking.

ooc//You undoubtedly know this already, but that cross hanging from Diaes's neck will keep him dead as long as it is in proximity to him...Holy artifacts turn him human, meaning he can't be restored by blood while one is tied to his body...

Shadow saw something glint around Diaes' neck. She took a closer look. A cross, one that rather stupid humans had tried to use on her not that long back when she had been caught using magic. She frowned, gently taking it off and taking a closer look. Yes, it did look like the ones those dumb humans had tried to use on her. She shook her head mentally. They had to read up on what affects half demons and what only afects full demons.
